Our school is for professionals or those aspiring to become professional actors.
Students may choose to do one course, a number of courses or to do the whole year – it is up to the student to decide.You can take any combination of courses, it is not necessary to do a full term or a full year.
The discount price was set up for students doing a full term or seasonal courses.
Ecole Philippe Gaulier has two different type of courses: THE YEAR COURSE and THE MASTER COURSE.
➤ THE FIRST YEAR COURSE
Consists of seven different subjects. The 7 courses are following the stream of Philippe Gaulier’s pedagogy.
In this course, we will take time to learn slowly so that we can firmly discover the fine details according to the theme.
The learning outcomes of each student will be demonstrated in the form of work presentations for each subject. Students must do the presentation at the end of each course.
1,5h Movement class + 2h Improvisation class + 1h self-preparation.
The capacity of the Year Course is 35 people. If the number of applicants is less than 20, the class may be cancelled.
➤ THE SECOND YEAR COURSE
This course focuses on the subject of CLOWNS. We will explore the world of CLOWNS and create a show at the end of the course. The final week will involve presenting the show to a real audience.
In order to be considered for this course, students must have completed at least 300 hours of the first year program including “LE JEU” and “CLOWNS” both 4weeks in the first year program. LE JEU = GAME is the most important basic lesson from Ecole Philippe Gaulier. Those who have completed the entire first year ( 450 hours) will receive a 300 euro reduction.

➤ THE SHORT COURSES
Is a short-term intensive course. This course is made for visitors, people who are not free to take the longer courses. If you want to take only one course, we strongly suggest you to take this course.

Students can choose whichever course they want to do.
Students cannot retake the same course for at least 3 years. You can’t go back until you’re in the real work field of theatre, gaining experience, and encountering new problems and questions at different levels. All classes in the programme are taught at the school, in Étampes.
